• Statistical modelling of mosquito-borne diseases (e.g. Dengue, Zika, Chikungunya, Malaria)
• Spatial and Spatio-temporal models for counting data
• Nowcasting and forecasting models for epidemics
• Model-based approach for defining epidemic thrseholds
• Inference in hard-to-reach (H2R) populations
• Inference for Respondent-driven sampling data
• Estimating population size using Network scale-up methods
• Statistical models for sexually transmitted infections (e.g. HIV, HCV, syphilis) in H2R populations
• Bayesian multilevel modelling (multilevel logistic regression)
• Statistical models for noncomunicable diseases
• Statistical models for cohorts, in particular in colaboration with the ELSA-Brasil study
• Bayesian inference for complex samples in secondary data sources

## Oportunities

If you are looking for a possible colaboration or an opportunity feel free to write to discuss a potencial project at all levels:

Scientific iniciation (PIBIC), it requires a CR>7 and at least a couple of months to prepare a project to submit to Fiocruz, FAPERJ, etc. PIBIC project under my supervision wiil basically be R development projects relate to my research interests.
• Graduate students (MSc and PhD)
I am qualified to supervise students in two graduate programs: Epidemiology in Public Health at ENSP/Fiocruz and Systems and Computational Biology at IOC/Fiocruz. A project may be required, so please get in touch in advance at least 3 to 6 months before application (usually 2nd semester of each year)
• Posdoctoral reasearchers
From time to time there are some posdoc scholarships available from the graduate programs (PNPD) and from other sources like FAPERJ, CNPq and international sources, let me know if you are interested.
